Data keys
Some sources and enrichment steps switch on only when a key is set. Save your own keys under Settings, in "Your own enrichment keys" and "Your own signal-source keys". Keys are stored encrypted and never shown again.
Your own keys are never metered. Calls made with them go to your account with that provider; you use each provider under its own terms, paid providers bill you directly, and ReadyBuyerFinder never charges you for them.
Surge's keys, at cost. For the paid providers (Hunter, Prospeo, Reoon, People Data Labs, TheirStack, X, IPinfo), if you leave your key empty and turn on Use Surge's provider keys on the Billing page, ReadyBuyerFinder uses Surge's account with that provider where one is set up. Each call is recorded in the Usage table on the Billing page and you pay what it cost us, with no markup (billing). With the switch off, steps that need a missing paid key are skipped.
Enrichment keys
| Key | What it unlocks | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Hunter.io API key | People search at a company domain and the first email finder in the waterfall; also needed for "find people for missing roles" | hunter.io, in your account's API section |
| Prospeo API key | Second email finder, tried when Hunter finds nothing | prospeo.io, in your dashboard's API section |
| Reoon email verifier key | Mailbox-level email verification | reoon.com, in the email verifier dashboard |
| People Data Labs API key | Phone numbers (Indian numbers normalised to +91 with a mobile check) and the job-change signal | peopledatalabs.com, in your dashboard |
Without these keys, ReadyBuyerFinder still finds emails with its own pattern guesses and MX checks, free.
Signal-source keys
| Key | What it unlocks | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
| TheirStack API key | Hiring signal from job postings beyond the public Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby boards. Needs job-title words on the agent | theirstack.com, in your account settings |
| People Data Labs API key | New leaders signal: people who recently started a role matching your personas | (same key as above) |
| X API bearer token | Keyword mentions on X. X bills per use | developer.x.com, in your project's keys and tokens |
| Reddit app client id and secret | Keyword mentions on Reddit | reddit.com/prefs/apps: create an app, then copy its id and secret |
| data.gov.in API key | "New Indian companies (MCA)" signal from the MCA company master (Open Government Data licence), and CIN lookups for Indian companies. Free | data.gov.in: sign up, then find the API key in your account |
X and Reddit need keywords on the agent. The MCA signal is skipped when the agent's regions exclude India.
Platform keys (for whoever runs the server)
Platform keys are set for the whole server with environment variables: HUNTER_API_KEY, PROSPEO_API_KEY, REOON_API_KEY, PDL_API_KEY, THEIRSTACK_API_KEY, X_BEARER_TOKEN, REDDIT_CLIENT_ID, REDDIT_CLIENT_SECRET and DATA_GOV_API_KEY. Company lookups for the website pixel need IPINFO_TOKEN. Platform keys for paid providers are used for a workspace only when it has turned on "Use Surge's provider keys", and those calls are metered at cost.
