Free intent data
Free buyer intent data, and exactly what isn't free
ReadyBuyerFinder is free; you pay third-party costs at cost. Most buying signals come from public sources that cost nothing to read, and the AI runs on Surge's own server, so they are free to you. Some enrichment comes from paid providers. Here is the split, plainly.
Free
- ✓ ReadyBuyerFinder itself. Every feature, with fair-use limits per workspace (see below). No card, no subscription.
- ✓ Startup and tech news. Inc42, Entrackr, YourStory and TechCrunch RSS feeds: funding, new leaders, hiring news, company news.
- ✓ Global news. GDELT 2.0 open data: funding, appointments, expansion and keyword mentions worldwide.
- ✓ US funding filings. SEC EDGAR Form D filings.
- ✓ Public job boards. Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby job boards for the companies you watch.
- ✓ Company websites. Homepage description and tech stack, read by our crawler (robots.txt respected).
- ✓ Hacker News. Keyword and competitor mentions.
- ✓ New Indian companies (MCA). The MCA company master on data.gov.in. Needs a data.gov.in key, which is free.
- ✓ Your own data. CSV imports, the REST API and pages you save with the Chrome extension.
- ✓ Email finder. The built-in finder: name patterns plus mail-server (MX) checks.
- ✓ AI. ICP setup, the signal noise filter, first messages and reply labels run on Surge's own AI server.
Costs money: paid third-party providers
Optional. Each one is off until you add your own key or switch on Surge's provider keys.
- Hunter and Prospeo. Extra email finders, tried before our pattern guesses.
- Reoon. Mailbox-level email verification.
- People Data Labs. Phone numbers and the job-change signal.
- TheirStack. Job postings beyond the public job boards.
- X API. Keyword mentions on X (X bills per use).
- IPinfo. The company lookup behind website-visitor identification.
- Claude. Only if a workspace uses Claude as a fallback for the AI.
Reddit search needs your own Reddit app id and secret; you use it under Reddit's terms.
Your own keys
Paste a provider key in Settings and calls go to your account with that provider. ReadyBuyerFinder never meters or charges for them.
Surge's keys, at cost
Paid third-party services (extra email finders, verification, phone and job data, X posts, visitor lookups) cost what they cost us, with no markup, and only if you switch on Surge's provider keys. Calls made with your own keys are never metered. A monthly at-cost limit (default $5, you can change it) skips any paid call that would go over it, and the run carries on with the free sources.
Fair use
Up to 15 agents and 10,000 new leads a month per workspace. The limits protect the shared AI server. At the lead limit, agents pause until next month; nothing is charged.
What ReadyBuyerFinder doesn't offer at any price: person-level identification of anonymous website visitors, third-party research-intent topics (such as Bombora), and anything scraped from LinkedIn. See pricing, data sources and every signal type.
